The Polycom SoundPoint IP 301 is an entry level IP phone for SIP based deployments. The Polycom IP 301 provides a graphical display with three soft keys that provide direct navigation and programming from the phone. The SoundPoint IP 301 is designed for deskworkers who do not rely on their telephone as their primary communication method.

The Polycom IP 301 includes features such as a headset port and use button. The IP 301 also has a built in one-way speaker for paging and alerting. A dual port Ethernet switch (10/100) is built into the phone in order to share the same network drop with a PC, preventing the need for a second cable run. The Polycom 301 can be powered via either an optional power supply or a power over Ethernet switch.
