ShoreTel SG-40 Voice Switch Description:

Each ShoreTel 40/8 voice switch can support either 40 ShoreTel IP phones or 8 analog ports. The analog ports on a ShoreTel SG-40 are available as 2 FXS/FXO ports, 2 FXO only ports, and 4 FXS ports. In addition to the IP and analog connectivity the ShoreTel 40/8 switch provides, the voice switch can interface to analog trunks via loop start or wink start signalling.

The ShoreTel SG-40 offers two RJ-45 Ethernet connections, a DB9 port for consoling into the unit, and an RJ-21X port for connecting a patch panel. The 40/8 also has a 3.5 mm stereo input for connecting music-on-hold, and a 3.5 mm stereo output for overhead paging.
