The switch has support for VLANs, auto-tagging of traffic, and also has port authentication abilities. The network switch is layer 3 / Quality of Service aware for traffic prioritization. A switch fabric switch capacity of 96.0 Gbps is built into the switch and a forwarding rate of 71.2 Mpps ensures fast delivery of your information across the network. Up to 8,000 MAC addresses can be stored by the Dell PowerConnect 5448.
