Toshiba Strata Phone Systems – CTX and CIX

Toshiba’s telecom department has released several telephone systems over the years. Two systems they released in the 2000’s turned out to be some of their most popular systems. These are the Toshiba Strata CTX and the Toshiba Strata CIX. Customers often call us looking for replacement Toshiba phones for their system, but they are not sure which phone is compatible with their phone system.

Toshiba Strata CTX Phone System:

The Toshiba Strata CTX is the older of the two phone systems. The Strata CTX was designed to be a modular system that accepted various line and station cards. Through these line and station cards, various digital Toshiba telephones or even IP based Toshiba telephones could be supported. The CTX phone system most often uses DKT2000, DKT3000, and IPT2000 series phones.

There are special compatibility considerations for the Toshiba Strata CTX28. This phone system is only compatible with the DKT3007-SD and the DKT3207-SD.

Toshiba Strata CIX Phone System:

The Toshiba Strata CIX is the replacement phone system for the CTX. The Strata CIX is an updated, more modern IP based phone system. The CIX family can still support the digital DP5000 series of telephones despite being a more IP based phone system.

The following phones are also compatible with most Toshiba CIX phone systems include:

Please note the Toshiba DP5022-SDM is only compatible with the CIX40.

There are many similarities between the CTX and CIX phone systems. Most users should not see a difference between the two systems. Use the version that best suits the needs and budget of your business.
