To reset your 3Com 3102 phone, you’ll need to boot the phone up. After the phone boots with the software version, press the programming button in the top right corner of the phone (This is the button with a white circle).
You’ll want to scroll down to option 6 and select advanced settings. If prompted for a password, the default password for the 3102 IP phone is 1234#. Once in the phone’s advanced settings, scroll down to option 5, hardware reset. Select this to factory reset the phone’s hardware settings. Once the phone has been rebooted, log into the phone’s programming menu and go back to option 6, advanced settings. You’ll want to select option three, “Set EEPROM – Default.” Hit the # sign to confirm the change and then press the mute button to confirm the change. Hit the programming button in the top right corner of the phone to exit the programming menu and confirm the reboot of the phone. Your phone is now factory defaulted!
Please note: if using the 3Com 3C10402B and the 3C10402C versions of the NBX 3102 phone, you may need to hook a phone up using an external AC power adapter in order to reset the phone.
Step by step directions:
- Boot up your phone
- After software version is displayed, press programming button in top right corner (has small white dot in center)
- Scroll down to option 6 and select advanced settings
- If prompted for password type 1234# (this is the default password)
- Once in advanced setting, scroll to option 5 and select hardware reset
- The phone should reboot after the hardware reset
- Press the programming button in the top right corner (has the small white dot)
- Scroll down to option 6 and select advanced settings
- Scroll down to option three and select Set EEPROM - Default
- Hit the # sign and then the mute button to confirm the change
- Press the programming button in top right corner to exit and confirm reboot
- DONE
