What Is a Check Jogger?

Posted by Jeff Csisar on

A check jogger is a simple vibrating device. The purpose of a check jogger is to align all the checks together properly. The check jogger accomplishes this by very quickly shaking the stacks of checks until they “jog” or bounce into place.

When a check jogger is finished, checks should all be standing upright and one corner should be matching for all checks, making them easy to scan. Check joggers are most often seen at a local bank branch where several checks need to be processed at once.

There are several manufacturers of check joggers. Refurbished Phone Exchange carries the ShearTech series of joggers. The ShearTech MJ-2500 automatic check jogger is perfect for smaller banks and branches that have a lower volume of checks than larger downtown branches.X
